Blinded by love and ignoring yellow caution flags of being absolute
opposites and not dealing with deep seeded trauma from childhood during
their 2 ½ year courtship, this Christian Northern California coupled
headed for the altar. Trouble began shortly after saying we do. 6 years,
wrought with unfaithfulness, self-centeredness, and neglect, this marriage
was headed for divorce court.
On a whim, the couple agreed to meet with Dr. Stan Ponz, who happened to be doing a Discover Your Giftedness seminar at their home church. After two hours with Stan, he had pegged a few of this couples marital issues but needed much more time to deal with the deeper and more destructive issues. The couple agreed to spend 4 days with Stan and his wife in their beautiful home in the North Georgia Mountains. Armed with the Word of God and a heart of compassion, Stan lovingly confronted and admonished this couple with the absolute truths found in God’s word. The blood of Christ and soon forgiveness found within covered what once seemed insurmountable. For the first time in many months, hope glimmered for this couple. That glimmer soon became a fiery flame as the truths taught resonated within them and they made a commitment to place God at the center of their lives and to lovingly stick by each other no matter what. We are grateful to the Lord for what we learned from the Word of God as presented through the marital coaching of Dr. Stan Ponz. (Testimony is used by permission) |
